What it is: An opportunity for anyone at least 16 years old and either planning to enroll, or currently enrolled in a higher-education program, to become more directly involved in planning and promoting the Dickey County Fair. The Fair Board is looking for energetic, creative people that are interested in improving the fair experience for everyone!
What is expected: Attend the next Fair Board meeting on June 16 at 7 p.m. at the Fair Office. If unable to attend, notify Val Wagner via text ((701) 320-0381), email (email@example.com) or Facebook expressing your interest in being involved. Bring ideas, energy and creativity with you!
What can you get from it: Money. In the form of scholarships. Up to $250 per year! We’ll be giving away one $250 scholarship and three $100 scholarships. If you’re not in college yet, you can build your fund until you’re enrolled in school. Checks can only be written to a college in a student’s name.
How do you participate: We’re asking your help in promoting the Dickey County Fair through social media, posters, campaigns, whatever you can think of – we’re open to ideas! The more you promote the fair, the better your chances of being selected for a scholarship! We’re also asking for assistance during the fair, whether it be helping hand out trophies for the Kid’s Pedal Pull, assisting with directing people to events or serving as a ticket-taker for grandstand entertainment; the fair is always looking for an extra hand, and we’re wanting to reward those youth willing to step up.
When will you know: We’ll announce the scholarship award winners by July 19, 2015. Winners will be chosen by the Dickey County Fair Board at the conclusion of the 2015 Dickey County Fair. We’ll consider involvement, volunteerism, energy, creativity and commitment.
